Host and producer of two new television shows
"Comedy Street" and "Retro" on NOWTV Leland is
increasingly becoming a familiar face. Hosting, producing, acting and
writing for television and radio are giving Leland less time to pursue his
first love, live stand-up comedy.
Leland Klassen is Canada’s premiere clean comedian and
has performed at Montreal’s Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, Yuk Yuk’s
as well as many other leading comedy clubs across the country. Leland
separates himself from other comedians in the comedy scene because he is
so clean and yet he is so outrageously funny.
Early on in his career Leland was recognized by
producers and network executives as an incredible talent which led to his
first role in a pilot for a CBC sitcom. Since then Leland’s journey has
led him to write and perform for CBC Radio nationally and regionally
numerous times and as well allowed him to pick up many acting, performing
and writing credits. Along the way Leland has shared management with
artists such as Kelsey Grammar, Tobey Macquire, Angelina Jolie and Richard
Dreyfus. Leland is also currently active as a writer producer for NOWTV,
for whom he developed the show "Comedy Street" and "The
Leland Project" a sketch comedy show based on characters from his
act. Leland continues to develop television projects for NOWTV and has
worked on concepts for PAX TV in the USA.
When it comes to Leland’s first love audiences are
captivated right from the start by his clean and comfortable stage
presence. His hilarious high energy – physical humor is drawn from
family life, everyday situations as well as his unique background and up
bringing. Leland is not afraid to be a Christian in the comedy world
because he has taken his act to a new level, a level where all barriers
are eliminated and the end result is an incredible experience for
everyone.
